Year-to-Date
A measure of performance from the beginning of the calendar year up to the current date.
Year-to-date (YTD) performance is one of the most commonly quoted metrics in finance. It resets every January 1st and is useful for comparing funds or portfolios within the same time frame.
It's your score sheet from 1 January until today — no matter what happened last year.
Real world: A fund is up 8.4% year-to-date in April. This tells investors how the fund has performed since the start of the year, ignoring previous years' results.
💡 Year-to-date numbers give you a fresh view of performance each new year.
