Evergreen Fund
An investment fund with no fixed end date that continuously reinvests returns rather than distributing proceeds and closing after a set term.
Traditional private equity funds have a fixed 10-year life: 5 years to invest, 5 years to manage and exit. At the end, capital plus gains are returned to investors who then face the challenge of reinvesting that capital elsewhere — often at worse terms or higher valuations. Evergreen funds eliminate this 'reinvestment risk' by continuously recycling capital into new opportunities as old ones mature.
For investors, evergreen funds offer simplicity and compounding. You invest once and benefit from decades of growth reinvestment without the recurring decision of where to redeploy distributions. The trade-off is less liquidity — in a traditional fund, you know capital returns within 10 years; in an evergreen structure, capital may remain locked indefinitely unless there's a secondary market for the fund's shares.
