Deposit in Transit
Money you have already recorded and deposited but the bank hasn't added to your account yet.
Deposits in transit are added to the bank balance during reconciliation. They explain why your books show more cash than the bank does right now. It's like mailing a birthday card that you know will arrive, but it hasn't shown up in the mailbox yet.
Real world: You drop the day's cash and checks at the bank after hours on Friday night — it's in your books but won't appear on the bank statement until Monday.
💡 Deposits in transit are normal — just make sure you actually took the money to the bank or dropped it in the night deposit.
