Company Town
A town where one big company is basically the only employer and owns most of the houses, stores, and services.
Company towns can feel safe when the company is doing well but become ghost towns or boomtowns when the company has problems. Many modern tech campuses act a little like company towns. It's like living in a giant video game where one company owns the whole map, the shops, and even your house.
Real world: Old coal or steel towns where the mining company owned the houses and store — if you lost your job there, you often had to leave town completely.
💡 Company towns make life simple but risky — if that one company struggles, the whole town can collapse fast.
