Candlestick Chart
A price chart that shows the open, high, low, and close for each period using candle-shaped bars.
Candlestick charts were invented by Japanese rice traders over 300 years ago. They are now the most popular chart type because they show emotion and momentum better than simple line charts.
Each candle tells a little story of the battle between buyers and sellers during that time period.
Real world: A green (bullish) candle means the price closed higher than it opened. A long upper shadow means buyers pushed hard but sellers fought back. Patterns like doji, hammer, or engulfing give traders clues about what might happen next.
💡 Candlesticks turn raw price data into readable stories about market psychology.
