Ask Price
The lowest price a seller is currently willing to accept for a stock or asset.
The ask price is always higher than the bid price. Professional traders try to buy near the bid and sell near the ask to capture the spread. The gap between bid and ask is a hidden cost of trading.
It's the price tag the seller sticks on their item in the market stall.
Real world: If the ask price for Apple shares is £225, you have to pay at least that amount if you want to buy immediately using a market order.
💡 The ask price tells you the minimum you must pay if you want the asset right away.
